Collisions
The collision control function of Plant Modeller detects and reports cases where objects collide with each other, contact each other, or are too close to each other.
Collision detection can be performed in various ways:
-
As online detection during pipe routing, cable tray routing, or duct routing.
-
As saved test cases that can be run as often as needed.
-
As ad hoc tests between two user-defined sets of objects.
Collision detection uses the following rules:
-
Collision: distance between objects is negative (-1 mm or more).
-
Contact: distance between unconnected objects is ±1 mm.
-
Clearance violation: distance between objects is less than user-defined minimum clearance.
Insulation is considered in all types of collision tests, also when insulation is not visualized in the views. See Insulation and collision control.
